B&O History Overview

April 22, 1853
 - Brockville & Ottawa Railway incorporated.

February 17, 1859
 - Line was opened from Brockville to Smiths Falls.
 - Branch line from Smiths Falls to Perth opened.

August 22, 1859
- Line was opened from Smiths Falls to Almonte.

December 31, 1860
- Canada's first railway tunnel in Brockville opened.

December 06, 1864
- line from Almonte to Arnprior opened

September 1865
 - line opened from Arnprior to Sand Point.

July 1, 1872
 - Canada Central Railway leases B&O line from Carleton Place to Sand Point.

May 10, 1878
 - The Brockville & Ottawa Railway amalgamates with the Canada Central Railway.

June 6, 1881
 - Canada Central Railway amalgamated into the Canadian Pacific Railway
